Annual General Meeting was held on 21^st March, 2002. During the meeting, it was resolved that the entrance and annual subscription fees are as follows: -

3. TRAINING

“The Legal Aspects of Buying and Selling New Territories Small Houses in Hong Kong”

A training course on the above-named topic will be held on 3^rd April, 2002 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. About 20 members of our Society have indicated their interest to participate.

4. CONVENTION, SYMPOSIUM and NETWORKING ETC.

1. Study Group from Shanghai
   (April 18, 2002)

   Our Society was invited by the SAR’s Housing Department to brief a study group made up of municipal housing officials from Shanghai on the estate agency work in Hong Kong. The talk will be held on April 18, 2002 in one of our members’ conference room. Our Vice-President, Karen Wong, will be the key speaker and members are welcome to attend.

2. FIABCI 2002’s 53^rd World Congress in Kuala Lumpur
   (May 26 - 31, 2002)

The International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) will hold its FIABCI 2002, 53^rd World Congress in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 26^th May, 2002 to 31^st May, 2002 and the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dr. Mahatir, will officiate the opening ceremony.

5. GOVERNMENT & EAA

1. EAA

At the invitation of the Estate Agents Authority, five estate agency associations has unanimously nominated Alex Tang as a co-opt member of EAA’s Practice Committee.

2. Legislative Council

Together with other estate agency associations, our Society requested the Housing Panel of the Legislative Council (1) to review the appointment of the existing EAA’s Category A members as some of them have not been practicing estate agency work, (2) to co-opt more estate agency professionals into EAA’s standing committees and (3) to make EAA more open and financially responsible.

The Web site, i.e. www.icrea.org, for the International Consortium of Real Estate Associations was officially launched as scheduled.

2. Official Web site for the Society of Hong Kong Real Estate Agents Ltd. ---www.hkrealtor.com
   

Our official Web site has been updated from time to time since its launch. Members are welcome to contribute improvement ideas to our IT chairman, Victor KWONG, at 9107 2812.

3. Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators

Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators has prepared a Scheme  Arbitration Procedure for our comments and we have posted it in our Web site at http://www.hkrealtor.com/Members/Member%20Benefits%201.htm
