The Council
The governing body of the Society of Hong Kong Real Estate Agents Ltd. is its Council.
The Council is made up of 18 elected council members. Amongst them, 5 shall be elected from the Category 1, 4 from Category II, 4 from Category III and 5 from Category A members.
Category I means the company member which has 2 to 25 licensed estate agents or salespersons.
Category II means the company member which has 26 to 150 licensed estate agents or salespersons.
Category III means the company member which has over 150 licensed estate agents or salespersons.
Category A members mean those who are individual licensed estate agents or salespersons under the Estate Agents Ordinace.
All elected council members shall be elected in the Annual General Meeting for a period of two years.

The Committees
In order to further the Society�s work, our Council has formed different committees. The chairperson of each committee who will be appointed by the Council will select his own committee members to further the committee work.
(1) Practice Committee
It will help to keep the members informed about the Estate Agency Ordinance, subsidiary regulations, practice guidelines and other related laws which will affect the estate agency practice from time to time. It will also advise the council on actions to be taken with regards to these issues.
(2) Education Committee
It will help to organize seminars, courses, conference for the professional growth and development of the members. In addition to local institutions, it will work with other national real estate associations on the educational exchanges.
(3) Membership Committee
It will help to recruit real estate agencies and agents and to promote the solidarity amongst estate agencies and agents so as to make our Society a powerful organization and a voice for the estate agency profession.
(4) Complaints Committee
It will handle complaints from members of the Society or the public. It will try to settle the complaints and if situation requires, it will refer the complaints to relevant organizations.
(5) Public Relations Committee
It will help to promote the relations between the Society and the public, other professional associations and government departments and will advise the Council on matters affecting the professional image of the estate agency profession in general and the Society in particular.
(6) Fellowship Committee
It will organize recreational activities for our members from time to time so as to enhance the relationship between members.
(7) Information Technology Committee
It is responsible for the contents of the official Web site <hkrealtor.com>. It will also provide information technology-related support and advice to our members from time to time.
(8) Welfare Committee
It will organize welfare programs from time to time so as to provide various benefits to our members.
(9) Research Committee
It is responsible for conducting market research and providing information that will be published on the Market Information section of our Web site.
