Society
Election of the Council
In accordance with the Memorandum and Article of Association of the
Society of Hong Kong Real Estate Agents Limited, the tenure of the existing Council will
be expired in March, 2004. Members are therefore encouraged to participate in the coming
Council election and contribute to the growth and development of the Society.
Standard Statutory Forms
In October, the Society conducted a survey with its company members on
whether the Society should print the standard statutory forms for our members’ use in
the sale, purchase and leasing of residential properties in Hong Kong. The results came
out to be positive and the Council will follow up this issue.

Home Essentials, a furniture leasing giant, has sent the Society a
confirmation letter on the arrangement of referral commission. From now on, members can
make referrals directly to Jonanthan Pang of the Home Essentials at Tel. 2870 1400.
Conference and Expo
The annual conference and expo’ of the National Association of
Realtors will be held in San Francisco, U.S. on November 7 –11, 2003. Members are
encouraged to make use of this international event for business networking and
professional development.
International and Local Co-operation
Miriam Lowe, the Secretariat of the International Consortium of
Real Estate Associations (ICREA), briefed our Society on October 24, 2003 on the
development of the www.worldproperties.com.
Members were informed that there would be free listing of the Distinguished Properties for
our members till February, 2004. Members are advised to click into www.worldproperties.com for more information.
The Society has agreed to act as a co-sponsor of the Hong Kong
Infrastructure & Real Estate Services Expo to be held in Shanghai from 13 to 15
January 2004. The Expo is organized by the Trade Development Council and the Society has
acted as the co-sponsor for a number of years.
